So.. I was oneshoted with a shotgun

I am not mad just want to know the reason, is it coz I was too close or coz of the knockback? There was an open area to fall of the station next to the door but I didnt saw exactly what happend so Is it possible to get oneshoted? the tech level was on pair with enemy, 4<>7 cca so coz of that i doubt I was actually oneshoted.. If someone can confirm if we can get oneshoted plz do

Did you happen to see the log of the attack? Was it a critical, what damage type, etc? was it really a single shot, or a burst?

It depends on their ammo type and if it was a crit and if all 4 pellets hit and if you had low armor.
it doesnt happen as often as before but maybe you were playing with a low hp clone as well

hi as far as i remember, if you get pushed / knocked back into a hole, it can kill you (but you can also use that tactic against enemies, unless something changed in latest patch, which im soon going to be trying) :o)

edit: if an enemy falls down a hole though, that usually means less loot for you

Actual oneshots are pretty rare but are certainly possible. Most likely reason you die from oneshot of a shotgun blast is you got knocked back into a hole. If your resistance to whatever damage type was loaded into the shotgun is low enough it isn't impossible you just took too much damage at once and died although that's pretty rare.

Folks thx a lot for detailed info! It is greatly appreciated! I believe its less likely raw damage coz blunt, cut, and the 3rd one(forgot what its called..) i have around 70%(ish) RES and as I said my armor is all around lvl tech 7 but my HP does suck I do have low HP and Low Pain so that is that and I was in position where fall of station was possible so I see the low HP / low pain as a possible reason or it was in combination of both low HP and the fall. Thx again for clarification folks!

its been 0,573 seconds since i ve been one shotted, my first reaction was to immediately pull up steam discussions to mald, i hate it here, but i will keep playing, i have learned to enjoy self harm, its not about armor or weapons anymore, its not about winning or losing... its an addiction, every day i wake up and improve my "get one shotted" time record, every night i practice malding with my ceiling, i must mald, mald is love, mald is life, i embrace the mald, are you?

jokes aside if shotgun pusback pushes you into lava / holes etc, you do get one shotted, it may be also ammo type/crit/weapon damage plus the amputation chanse etc.

Well my friend said that I am an masuchist when I finished X-com apocalypse XD and Quasimorph does remind me of apocalypse
