L3 - A lone pillar of light, stands alone in the night
This is the worst riddle I've ever seen. It fails in every measurable way.

  • A lone pillar of light is a torch.
  • Pillars are round.
  • There are no actual pillars in this game (so far). There are giant walls. There are giant blocks (with 4 walls).
  • Since the word "lone" is in the riddle, I tried 1 torch. Fail.
  • Even if this is just a bad riddle, and we accept the loose meaning of the word "pillar", shouldn't there be 4 torches around the wall?

I really like this game, but it forced me to cheat, and look something up on the internet. I'm afraid to continue on if this is the level of polish on the riddles.

"Three pillars of light, stand alone in the night, though this riddle may bite, they hug the middle wall tight."

The fail is on your end.
A pillar of whatever is not a torch and pillars do can come in many forms and sizes.

FYI: torches do not stand

Google Image Search "Pillar".
Look at only Pillars which exist in Real Life.
The only square pillars are concept.
99.9% of actual pillars are cylindrical (almost like a torch).

Pillars can be rectangular and the riddle is pretty clear. This is on your end.

I was stuck for about 2 minutes, when I placed the same torch in each holder. When that didn't work, I noticed the "pillar" in the center of the room had 3 holders, so i figured it out from there. I also think a pillar should be round, but It wasn't too hard to get this one. Now using a potion mid-battle, that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard!

I took it as one of the easiest riddle so far. No need to be cheeky because you missed the point, it just happens sometimes :)

I was just glad that after I got the light spell I waited to drop all of my extra torches at the top of the stairs leading down to level 3 :p

I actually kept some torches around because I liked the natural light better than the eerie blue glow from the Light spell.

Actually the riddle is worded incorrectly since you can put 3 spent torches which emit no light

Yeah this riddle is stupid, it STRONGLY implies moving a single torch.
