THIS IS WHY THE GAME IS DYING
TFD is seriously lacking in content, and I see they're making the same mistake again; putting tons of work into playable content for an update coming later this year, but planning to profit solely through overpriced skins. It makes no sense to pay 20 euros/dollars for a single skin when, in other games, you can buy a DLC for the same price and get a quality expansion plus countless skins.

I'm currently playing other PC games like Stellar Blade, where you get a ton of skins included with the game; even more through modding!

This game cuts players off from modding, tries to charge for individual skins, and fails to deliver quality content where you can actually use those skins; that’s the number one reason it's dying.

Many players around the world can’t justify paying for a cosmetic skin when the game is free and already includes basic ones; and those who can afford it are often smart enough not to waste money on a game with barely any content, especially one that’s clearly headed for its demise.

Sure, there might be a few hundred whales who buy every skin and think everyone else is just “poor” or complaining; but they won’t be enough to carry this game. Good luck with that.

What this game needs is to move away from the purely free-to-play model and start charging for quality content, with skins included in those DLCs. It’s that simple, really.

Edit: It's astonishing how many people don't seem to understand that a business needs to make a profit in order to survive. "The skins are optional. It's free to play stop complaining." Huge facepalm lol.

Nexon reported in their earnings that TFD is performing under expectations. The player base is around 10k daily. They are not making a profit. There's not enough people buying skins to keep this sinking ship alive.

But we have afk events.

So much content
WDYM? We're getting so many rewards just for logging in, and we've unlocked the 50k pre-registration reward.

They have so much stuff in the game, they're giving away rewards without having to even play the game

its a free game
unlike destiny 2 who is free demo
this game content is all free
so of course they seek revenue from skins and other "optional" stuff
cause the main content is free

Typical cycle for f2p live service game. No free content out yet, so you just have to wait. One of the longest season 2 evarrrrrrr.... Meanwhile, there are thousands of other games to play. Kinda disgusted when they use calfornia as "feedback" for season 3...

Not as if you complain about single player games like spiderman, play for maybe 20ish hours for 70 bucks and hardly ever return to play again. Maybe 3 times in your life time when you are bored and nostalgia kicks in, so a total of 80 hours...

This is the thing that drives me crazy whenever I hear people complain about the price of skins in F2P games. They are either being dishonest, or they buy very few games. I'd rather pay $20 for a skin in a game that I already know that I enjoy playing, than gamble $60-$150 on something I might bounce off of in a matter of hours, or worse, that I end up not liking at all. Spider-Man was a great example. $60 down the drain. Hated that game. God of War, much the game. Barely got 2 hours out of either. 3-5 skins in TFD for that price? For me, that is far better value. Starfield was even worse. I spent $100 on the deluxe edition because I love Skyrim and Fallout and what did I get for my money? The worst skin in TFD has more tangible value than that entire game.

Stellar Blade = 300 hours +
The Witcher 3 = 300 hours +
Destiny 2 = 7000 hours +
The Last of Us = 200 hours +
Remnant 2 = 400 hours +

Only paid for the base game and DLCs. The Stellar Blade DLCs were mainly skins, but quite a few of them for just 10 dollars per dlc. Now I'm playing Stellar Blade on PC with mods using the skins from TFD in Stellar Blade FOR FREE, lol....

You must have missed the part where it's a free game.

They don't make the game for charity buddy.

Actually, charity is exactly what they're doing. You missed the entire point of my post. This game is purely free to play and they will not be able to make any money with this strategy. That's why the player base is dying and that's why they're losing money. Season 3 will be the last chance Nexon gives them after that the game is dead, just watch.

Wasn't it kinda sad that they had rewards for playing for a certain amount of minutes to hours.. they were so desperate to have people play their dead game.

the biggest problem with tfd rn is the game has no balance they refuse to nerf or balance ines or sernea better because the devs hate the fact people keep killing the void bosses in 3s or nuking all the content in seconds so ok then nerf the broken descendants that is breaking the balance sense you are sick of people doing this non stop then but no they will not thxs to the trolls that view bombed the game so now they are to scared to touch any of there updates so now because of this they dont even test there updates before they launch them and we have to be there test dummy's to find what is broken or dose not work right or what math or % is not calculated right.

and the last problem is the devs refuse to buff the boys to be as good as all the girls and make the game a fair and at lest close to a even playing field so everyone can play the game and get a pace of the pie and the other problem they are hyper focused on making fan service skins when we have told them how many times to add meaningful content that is fun to play but sadly all what is left of the player base are people that only care about skins and we wounder why non of the bugs glitches performance issues and all the others things i said above never get or got fixed still yet and the reason for why that is........

well its do to no one in the player base tells the devs and what all so dont help is they dont play test there game any more so this is why we are here now and it may only get worse from here on out but hey if i eat these words and they make a big come back then good because i want to eat these words and see tfd do better and be in a better spot then were it is now i did not put this many hours on this game for it to just die in only 1 year.

You pay 20€ for a skin because it's just a skin... It's there if you literally WANT it not need it. The game is literally free to play. That's the business model, if it upsets you, make your own game? Remember it's not a job, if you've played enough and don't find it interesting or fun just play something else. Jesus.

It is impossible to enter this game.N01000 //////.......Fu.....
Too much complaining other games have skins costing $20 to hundreds per skin for ONE character: Valorant, Waframe, Destiny, Overwatch, and Fortnite just to name a few and yet you're complaining about $20 a skin in this game? Make it make sense? :steamfacepalm:
