There are still a lot of folks out there who need help.

If you want the community to expand... help them.

I have noticed when playing Infliltrztion Ops where you can check a box to provide Other Infiltration support, much of the time I am joining new folks and so I hang back and intervene when necessary to make sure the OP is successful. I've done a lot of these OPs so I could earn coins to buy Sigvore's Proof and complete my gun collection.

I have also noticed that folks can help out a great deal during Special Operations when folks are trying to quickly level up their character that you can help them a great deal. Again, I don't try to overwhelm the OP, I just make sure everything is going well and if someone gets down, I get over there an revive them or provide cover.

The Void Vessal is also an OP which offers opportunities for long standing players to help new folks.

I have all the descendants and all the ultimate weapons. At present I am working on coring out all my weapons.

I'm not the best player out there and you won't find me on any leaderboard... but if you play with me, you can be assured I won't be showing off.

There are still lots of folks out there that need help.

Be a sheep dog and help them.

this is a great idea and mindset, the unfortunate fact of the matter is, the game and its design is leaning more towards a solo game versus team play game. That doesnt mean that team play offers nothing, i want to play in teams as much as i can, but the sandbox, game loop and design doesnt really allow for that

You are correct, it is a mindset.

I believe there is some sort of achievement or medal for playing the Void Vessal on normal 1000 times. That is about all it offers me.

I could complain about how folks do this or that, but this board is totally filled with folks doing stuff like that.

But for new players, they are after distinct objectives. Doesn't hurt me to play one or two Void Vessal games on normal, especially if I run into a couple folks who need a hand.

This is one of the better end game aspects of TFD. Helping new players is always fun, and gives them a positive outlook on the game. It doesn't take a MR 29 to do it either.

I am MR 25, however, I own all descendants and have mastered all the ultimate weapons. Currently I am working on putting cores into all my weapons with 7 to do. I am also working on getting all the purple weapons up to 40.

So... I run a lot of 400% dungeons and I always do it in a group. I am pretty astonished how many of these games have folks who need help. As I said in the OP, I stay to the rear and only intervene if necessary. Can't tell you how many people I have revived and how many times it was necessary to aggressively attack and kill the final boss.

The phrase "sheep dog" comes from the movie American Sniper.

Be a sheep dog and help the new folks! They willl appreciate it.

Investing time in somebody who is not worth it is an issue. Can help new players who wants to jump in and stays in game, not people who will be carry by a week and then lost interest.

I think you have a lot of these new folks wrong.

I believe most don't understand the mechanics.

I played awhile with a guy who was level 3 today. When I looked at his descendant, I noted immediately that he hadn't invested into any of his modules. Next time I will teach him that.

Wasn't a waste for me... got a whole bunch of blue weapons I can now level up. :)

Oh... and I have had quite a few folks thank me for helping them.

I agree with helping others but not with helping when people do not even ask for help.

I try to read world chat from time to time to see if anyone is asking for help, in addition to the dumpster fire that world chats are in general, it does not help that it does not have timestamps so if I don't see the message as they were just typing it then I assume is an old message and ignore it.

I also look in recruit chat but almost nobody uses that one for some reason.

Agreed.

The tutorials and player to player interface is terrible. Especially at the beginning when everything is totally new.

Mind, most folks don't ask me for help. I just join in dungeons and play. Real quick you can tell if the folks there struggle and it is amazing how many times that happens. Lots of those folks are playing Bunny and the guy I played with today was playing Ajax. I don't worry about how much time it takes me. He sent me a friend invite. I sent him a join invite. Then I gave him the lead. I let the new people do all the mechanics stuff so I can be sure they understand them. Sometimes they don't.

Be a sheep dog and help folks out.
I'll help anyone but most of the time those looking for help are asking for it on Discord due to it being more structured than TFD's in-game chat.

What does that even mean? Showing off by playing the game? Someone who is fully built will quickly take out mobs without even trying. You don't want the Gley's or Serena's to shoot, or for the Freyna's and Ines's to use abilities?

Long ago, I got matched with a fully built bunny while I was leveling up someone who was not good at mobbing. For some reason, they did not use any abilities. The only thing they did was make the mission take way longer than it had to.

The majority of people playing PUBS expect everybody to use the full extent of they're powers to complete the mission. Unless you’re helping someone asking for help, most people will think “Why is this person barely doing anything?”

What does that even mean?

It means I won't be running ahead of everybody and killing everything and turning the game into a boriing mess where the rest of the team doesn't even get a shot in.

Way too many of these folks around who should be playing solo if they don't have any consideration for the rest of team.
