With your setup I would use FG + DLSS while capping the framerate with v-sync, that will keep things much cooler.
Also, you never get any benefit from frames that go above the frequency of your monitor. If your monitor is 60MHz, 120MHz, 144MHz or more, that is the maximum number of FPS it can show on the screen and you should always cap the framerate to that.
Undervolting that Ryzen 5600X would also be a good idea, it will make the CPU cooler while giving you more frames too. I use -25 offset on all cores on my Ryzen 5800X3D.
And 6 cores are not enough anymore.
You have a mid-range gaming PC.
DLSS should not make a game run slower.
Try reinstalling the Nividia App.
Use the graphics drivers from Dec 2024 first.
Only use newer drivers if you need support for a specific, newer game. or certain bugfixes. Since the 5000 series came out Nvidia drivers for older cards have become a buggy mess.
Don't let the App optimize everything.
IMO it goes for settings too high on this game.
Keep settings to high at 1080 or 1440, Raytracing off. DLSS balanced in-game.
Also, check wether your PC fan settings in the Bios were somehow reset or adjusted.
The game can run hotter while in Albion. Sometimes it's as if there's no fps cap there. The CPU and GPU ramp up for no apparent reason
It's only a minor issue as long as you can play properly out in the field.
Good luck!
