how far are you into the game? because the enemy spawns only get worse :)

Use Easy Mode, it's not necessary unless you are actively hunting for V ranks.

I'm on level 7 currently. Level 3 is a pretty noticeable spike in difficulty, isn't it?

Yeah, I was aiming for V-Ranks on every stage up until Level 4, which is when I sort of gave up and switched to easy. I've managed to get V ranks on a handful of the later levels, though.

you could say that! i'd say the game stops pulling it's punches around level 4 but it keeps ramping up the punches to the point where 9-15 made me almost want to pull my hair out!
wouldn't recommend trying for V ranks until you complete the game, play a bit of arcade, and then come back with some knowledge on bobbing and weaving.

I've V-ranked the first world but the 4th one is truly the first difficulty spike.

I'm fine with S+ to be honest.

Due to the way enemy and item spawns are handled in hard mode, going for V ranks near the end of the game requires you to brute force your way through levels until you stumble upon a path that works.

You will not find a solution through clever deduction and reasoning.
