The screenshot links show "this content is no longer available", working files (especially video) would be helpful for diagnosis.
Just realized the links don't work when clicked on, though they seem to work when copy/pasted into a browser, but I'll try and get a better recording and reply with the video real quick!
As for video settings:
Fullscreen
Border Off
1920x1080
Window Stretch Off
Max FPS 60
V-Sync Off
Stage Glow On
Stage Reflection Glossy
Shadows Advanced
BG Smoothness High
These are the same settings I used before the update, however I didn't experience any issues prior and I went (basically) through most of the game at the time.
Just a heads up the video was edited to freeze when the background disappeared to show what happened clearer, the game did not lag or anything when it happened! The background disappearing only really happened for about a frame.
Also it generally DOESN'T happen at the start of a stage, but I just got lucky with this clip. It's just random.
I just realized my first video cut the start, sorry about that! Was rushing and realized I only exported part of the video, at least it showed the background disappeared. Caught it with this one (that's the main reason this reply took so long), should be a full video this time, with another stage, and showing the background also darkening instead of brightening/disappearing. I think it was just a fluke it was brightening most of the time when I was playing earlier.

I'll try the beta real quick!
And as said before I haven't been experiencing this until after the update, and I played through each level and some endless prior to updating.
As for current version, I also changed BG Smoothness to Low and it still happens in about the same capacity.
It's not unplayable or anything of course, still very much enjoying the update! Just sudden quick background changes like this really mess with my head for some reason.
Thank you! If you need me to do any other tests or give any further information let me know! In the meantime I'm free, so I'll try changing some other settings while attempting V ranks and bring up if I notice any changes.
I changed Stage Glow and Stage Reflection to Off, Shadows to Simple, and Background Smoothness to Low, and that seemed to fix the background issues as far as I can tell... but now it's happening to the tiles...?
Changed to the lowest resolution, with the lowest graphical settings, and did various tests on stages and endless. Seems there's no issues with either the background, or tiles!
However, even with the resolution at its lowest, on the highest graphical settings (Same as the first settings stated.), the background glitches still occur. I'll do further testing turning down/off each graphics setting one by one until I can narrow something down.
Edit: Before I said the tile issues also seemed to stop with all settings but Stage Glow at their highest, but I was just having a stroke of good luck I suppose. They must happen with Stage Glow off, just not frequently.
One thing to note is, when it happens, the tiles always seem to show the same "star" pattern as the video, but different colors (Atrium for example have whites, greens, and purples). Backgrounds still seem just fine.
Always happy to help, thank you for looking into it and ofc for making an amazing game!
Genuinely my favorite game I've played this year, and side note I only have 22 story stages left to V rank, almost there!

I managed to take a screenshot before I crashed, because I was complaining to a friend how dumb I was. (Probably need to paste in browser again, I'm unsure of a better way to attach images.)

What I did after the screenshot which caused the crash, was jump into the second open tile in front of Cerise, as a clover was about to land on me.
Also another thing that happened, funnily also involving clovers: When defeating a four leaf clover in the bestiary and getting the achievement for it, Cerise just... froze in place, mid-hammer swing. Had to completely exit the bestiary, unsure if this happens in normal levels, but might be worth a check?

(Note: I spawned another four leaf clover and it didn't cause the same issue as when getting the achievement.)
