Critical Damage
I've been trying to figure out how critical damage is calculated. According to what I have read, flat damage boosts to weapons (example: 5 damage from a daitium energy cell) do not count for critical damage. What I couldn't find is any upgraded that adds a range of damage (example: 2-16 damage from a pontite lens) is counted for critical damage. Does anyone know if bonus damage range is added or if it's not counted the same way flat damage is?

If it's a flat bonus it doesn't get multiplied, but if it's dice like 2-12 (2d6) they get rolled two or more times depending on lightsaber form or power attacks. There's one exception that I know of, lightsaber mastery's +2 bonus damage does get multiplied on a critical hit.

So if I'm reading this right, if I used a lightsaber with a bonus damage roll, (example: 1-8 electric from jolt cell) that damage would be rolled again for a critical hit? I couldn't find anything official confirming this.

Yes a 1d8 would be rolled multiple times on a critical hit. The ulitimate diatium just does 5 damage, critical or not.

This wiki page has all the combat mechanics. https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_II:_The_Sith_Lords/Combat#Critical_Hit

It's pretty typical in RPG's that the critical hit damage formula is calculated first and then the bonuses added in. They don't usually add the bonuses and then do the crit calculation. It follows this standard with crits in this game as well... with exception of adding that +2 for lightsaber specialization. Ofc, this is speculation without digging into the code to find out for sure. But, it seems to be the typical formula.... base wpn damage + crit multiplier = subtotal + bonuses = total damage.
