Windows 10. Cant Get Game to Load.
I'm pretty frustrated. I've played the game previously on my PC, using Windows 10, with no issues, but then recently when i've tried to play it just wont load. The best i've managed is a black screen.

Here's a list of stuff i've done in order to try and get the game running:

- Updated graphics drivers
- Updated Graphics Settings to run swkotor2.exe on GPU graphics
- Updated DirectX
- Created shortcut direct to swkotor2.exe
- Updated swkotor2.exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP3 and XP2 and Vista
- Adjusted the ini file to try and run as windowed (AllowWindowedMode=1) and changed FullScreen to 0 (didnt work)
- Uninstalled, deleted any remaining folders, and reinstalled (both vanilla and TSLRCM)

I'm pretty much at a loss as to what else i can do, any further suggestions would be gratefully accepted

None of that should be necessary - game runs fine in native (native as in "no compatibility options enabled at all) Win10 with a 1070 GTX. (Desktop-Display runs at 1080p-120Hz)
I have Win10-GameMode on (should not matter either) and TSLRCM installed.

Have you tried disabling the Logo-Videos ("Intro")?

Here are my GFX-options from the ini:

[Display Options]
FullScreen=1
Disable Movies=0
Disable Intro Movies=0
Sort Modules=1
Width=640
Height=480
BitsPerPixels=32
RefreshRate=60

[Graphics Options]
ForceSpeed=1
Brightness=57
RefreshRate=60
Height=1080
Width=1920
V-Sync=1
Anisotropy=16
Frame Buffer=1
Anti Aliasing=8
Texture Quality=2
Grass=1
Soft Shadows=1
Shadows=1
EnableHardwareMouse=1
FullScreen=1
DisableVertexBufferObjects=1

If nothing else works i'd even consider using older GFX drivers. (i'm still using 546.33 on NVIDIA)

Good luck
Have you installed restored content mod? It includes lot of bug fixes and makes game run at modern hardware without too much issues.
how do i do that im a boomer
Simply go to workshop and subscribe to mod. (English) The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification (TSLRCM)
STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™.

This mod is all you need. There's also fork of this mod which includes planet which was removed early in dev, but I don't recommend that version. It has bugs which can cause your entire play-through hang up and force you start from beginning after removing mod.
@OP...
When you changed 'properties' of the swkotor.exe to run in 'compatibility' mode, did you also check the box for 'Run as Administrator'? Did you also try hitting the button for changing High DPI behavior and set it to 'Override' letting application decide? Try those and test using your shortcut directly to the exe... not Steam's 'Play' button.
Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I have tried all the above but still no luck

Try making a new profile on your PC... should make it an admin level profile. Logout and switch to the new profile. Once it's finished setting up, find the game exe and try running it. If it works, then most likely your original profile has some permissions issues and needs some system repair / maintenance.
Nope, nothing i've tried has worked, so i'm giving up and getting my old Xbox out of the attic and playing the old buggy game on that.

Its pretty annoying (understatement of the year!) I am unable to run this game on my platform, given that the TLSRCM transformed the game for me, and in my mind made it as good as KOTOR.
