You might have found the crystal in Vogga's chambers. If I recall correctly, that one is green and is always there. You don't necessarily need to buy one, just have a colored crystal(The focusing crystal) in your inventory.

That said, my order is to rush Light Side(As I play a goodie goodie), get a crystal from a shop if I can, get a part from the citadel, get a part from Visas, and then get the final part from Dantooine, because the Kinrath caves have crystals there that help buff the lightsaber, just like back in KOTOR 1.

If you don't have a color, it gives you one...

I didn't know that. I've always had a colored crystal(You get one from Jorran in Dantooine)

i went back to a save before i crafted n looked in inventory under "quest", I had only 3 parts

A colored crystal wouldn't be a quest item. It's technically an upgrade item. It's just an upgrade item that you can't create. Same with the other power up crystals for lightsabers like Bondar and Phond.

There's only 3 parts to craft a lightsaber.

Ha! Probably would have never realized this. I've always had some color crystals by the time I would get to craft a saber. And, yeah... they're just regular inventory items--not quest items.
