FIX: KOTOR 2 Camera Spins (Left) and Controller Issues
I have a Roccat Tyon mouse and an Xbox 360 controller with Wireless adapter.

Troubleshooting: If you run the game and you see controller buttons for the menu options, the game thinks you have a controller plugged in. The camera spins if you have more than 1 controller plugged in.

Go to Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings

Look on the bottom under "Detected Controllers:"
In my case, VirtualXInput Device (you can ignore this one), Roccat Tyon and Xbox 360 Controller was listed. This caused issues with KOTOR 2. My mouse is obviously not a controller, so go into Device Manager in Windows:

Under "Human Interface Devices" look for HID-compliant game Controller (There may be more than 1 listed)

What you want to do is disable all but 1 of them. This may take trial and error until you find which one belongs to the controller you want to use (Use the Steam Controller settings to see which ones disappear so you can identify). In my case, I disabled all HID-compliant game Controllers except the one that went to my Xbox 360 controller. Once Steam showed only Virtual XInput Device and Xbox 360 Controller, I launched the game and the camera spin issues were gone and my controller was working.

Thank you SO much! This issue had been driving me crazy for days, I tried every fix that I could find and eventually came to the conclusion that it was controller based so started looking for a way to disable whatever controller it thought I was using (I do not use controllers, just kb/m).
Finding this post has made my game much more enjoyable :)
My issue was also with a Roccat, this one an Isku+ ForceFX keyboard that for some reason Windows 10 decided was a Game Controller under HID, so I disabled the only game controller in the HID list and it fixed the issue straight away.

Okay here is the thing. Yeah my camera is spinning left and my character is running at random. so with that being said i read the comments above and i didn't see anything that was helpful. i have a $200 Astro 40 controller but can't use it on this game because of the spinning. so if someone could walk me through what i am suppose to do to fix this problem i would greatly appreciate it. and please speak something i can understand. i am new to PC and i don't need someone speaking technical garbage i can't understand

okay...so have u actually tried the method above yet? If not click on the start symbol of your pc. Where it says "Type here to search" put "device manager". U should find it automatically. From there just follow Calhoun's instructions (in "device manager" click on "human interface devices", look for "hd compliant game controller" etc etc).

Unless I'm severely blind, there's nohing under Detected Controller

This game is ♥♥♥♥, and I have some random frame drop every 3 seconds.
What a joke, when back in time this game could run at 60 on my old pentium 4.
