I just spent about 7 hours trying to get KOTOR2 to launch on my computer.

The errors I was dealing with were Error 126 (pre-administrator mode) and Error 87(after changing to administrator mode.).

I was just wondering if you guys had any helpful advice in this regard. Using Steam’s launcher seems to just completely be not an option. Instead, I try and do it from the file (after running as an administrator and changing the compatibility), but it says that “This game requires steam” or a “steam log-in to be played. Log into steam to access this game in your library, etc.”

I’ve tried to delete movies, I’ve changed the coding on full screen and allowwindowedmode. But it just doesn’t seem to work for me. Any advice?

My computer is Windows 11 home. With a 3.60 GHz processor. I can run KOTOR1 with absolutely no problems or bugs so far, but KOTOR2 just refuses to launch. I got it to the point where it wouldn’t give me an error message, but instead just had a tab reading, “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II” with everything blank within the tab.

Also, I downloaded DirectX 9. I genuinely can’t figure out what I have wrong.
