1. Download and Reinstall CC+ Packages from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 - (from 2010 to 2022 remember to download and install the correct version x64(bit) or (x86) for x32 Bit system. You can check bit by going to My PC rightclick and click properties ) install them and RESTART your computer
( This Step fixes usually kotor 1 and 2 crash issues on every machine I ever installed it)
The reason is this game hard requires the old vcredist libaries which windows 8 / 10 and 11 doesnt download automaticly for some reason... basicly you need to install those manually if you want to play any game made before 2008 using windows 10 or newer.

2. Open \steamapps\common\swkotor <- rightclick the swkotor.exe , click properties and set compability mode to windows XP service pack 2

3. If all of above did not fix your crashes you could install windows XP on Virtual Machine and launch the game through this. Plenty of YT-Tutorials how to set it up.
