Self-Patching Failed with Exception: Failed to get file from source at ZCUpdater.Framework.Tasks....
So ever since the parity patch dropped, I have been having occassional crashes between matches. It would always be during the transition from one match to the next that my game would freeze and crash. During 3 or 4 hour sessions, Id crash about twice.

The last time this happened, the game wouldnt start back up, it would just immedietaly crash as soon as I click "Play" on the launcher.

So I decided to verify the game cache through steam, and it turned out 4.2GB of data needed to be fixed. And so 4.2GB of data was downloaded and now when I try to start the game, the launcher just sits there for a few dozen seconds and then it shows me this message: Self-Patchinf Failed with Exception: Failed to get file from source at ZCUpdateTask.Framework.Tasks.FileUpdateTask...etc.

I've verified the cache once again, it says that everything is fine.

What am I supposed to do now to make the game work?

My download speed is very limited and I would like to know if theres something I can do other than uninstalling and reinstalling the game (since I'm afraid Ill just have the same message appear once Ive installed the game again).

When you verify the game cache via steam you reset the game to version 1, so you have to download all the patches again. Try the "Force Full Repatch" and the "Verify Game Files" option in the games launcher instead of steam.

Thank you for the reply.

I have tried this and the download for the patch would stop after about 20 or 30 seconds of download and it will just say "patching failed, try later".

I'm currently redownloading the game, I have no idea if it will work.

You're welcome. Please report back if it works after redownloading or if it fails. I hope we will find a solution.

Completely reinstalling the game seems to have worked.

I hope that the developers take better care of their game, because its full of crashes and bugs since the parity patch dropped. Noone wants to crash every 3 matches and then subsequently have to reinstall the game in order for it to work.

The Game crashes come from the net frameworks.Some latest windows update messes it up.Besides Steam instals you framworks 4 while blacklight uses 3.5 32 bit version.So you waste time reinstaling the game.You just need to check your recent updates and frameworks and reinstal there.

You could just try to install "All in One Runtimes". It installes most of the stuff you need for gaming.

I will check those out. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have windows10, that might cause problems I guess. I don't really know much about these things, I just get annoyed and try to fix it any way I can (which is usualy reinstalling using a max download speed of 600kb/s...)
