Wanted to buy this game but it seems like the developers have abandoned the majority of their games. Unfortunate.

How do you explain a 2GB patch yesterday if they are about to abandon the game?

The game has just been released, of course they're still patching it. That's no guarantee they won't abandon it in the future.
With the high entry price for a niche early access title, currently just 122 reviews, 62% of which are negative and knowing that they have already done it with their previous games, I don't think that's so unlikely, unfortunately.

We won't. We will do what it takes to bring HG to the place it should be.

Let me clarify the situation of previous games for you.

In December, we released Glorious Companions 1.0, a side project that had been on hold for six years. When we finally found the time and resources, we decided not to leave it unfinished. This was handled by a separate team, and the Hotel Galactic team was focused on their project. We had no major expectations for this title, as it was a six-year-old Early Access project that hadn’t been in active production for quite some time. Still, we chose to rework and finish it. There is no support here, as the game has no funding or team to work on it. This game should also get more time in the oven - but it was a small project we just wanted to finish, and the change was MASSIVE since EA.

About a year ago, we published Blockbuster Inc., but it's important to note that this is not our game. We were only involved as the publisher. We don’t work with Unreal, and after the release, Super Sly Fox decided to move on, and our Unity team was not able to save this project. Like many others, we had hoped this game would become a true spiritual successor to The Movies.

Hotel Galactic is our only major self-developed release in years, with our full team focused on it from the beginning.

*As for The Tenants, all decisions regarding that title currently lie with the publisher. We will regain the rights to the game at some point in the future.

Thanks for the detailed information. My comment wasn't meant to imply any malice; some developers stop working on a game if further development isn't financially viable, and I can understand that.
I wish you all the best with Hotel Galactic and I'm looking forward to the 1.0 release, the demo was a lot of fun.

every dev says this and then after 2 or 3 months release a $10 cosmetic supporter dlc (last ditch) and after 3 days: "important message for the community: thx for the support.... blah blah blah dream project blah blah blah unfortunately we must cease development. BYE!"
