I didn't get the fire spell despite already being past the point where you get it
I had the dialogue in "A Desperate Dash to Freedom" where the dragon says she will give you a power and you will be the first mortal to get it, and then nothing happened. The mission started, I never got any power. Now I am like 10 missions further into the game and still don't have it.

Clearly a bug. Restarting the mission where you're supposed to get it didn't fix it, and replaying the dialogue from the "movies" menu also didn't fix it.

Sorry it took so long for anyone to answer you. I'm guessing you were playing on Steam Deck or Windows 11 and crashed in a cutscene? I can help fix it for anyone else who has this problem:

1. Close the game.
2. Right click Defender's Quest in your Steam library and temporarily turn off Cloud Saves so they don't interfere.
3. Go to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\LevelUpLabs\DefendersQuest
4. Create a copy of your save file somewhere, just in case!
5. Right click your save file and select Open With -> Notepad.
6. Near the top you'll see Azra and her list of spells. It should look something like this:

<skills points="0"> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="lightning"/> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="frenzy"/> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="healing"/> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="crystal"/> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="pushback"/> <skill type="attack" level="1" id="dragon_fire"/> </skills>

7. Look through your list of spells and see what's missing from the above list. Copy the missing line, paste where it's supposed to go in that list.
8. Save the file, load the game up, problem should be solved. :bakal:
