Game launches to a black screen [ADMIN: RESOLVED]
Hello,

When I launch a game file, I get a black screen that says "Hello, my name is [Name]". I can't seem to get anything else to happen and have to ctrl/alt/del just to get out of the game. I tried removing the game and uninstalling it but it didn't help.

Are you by any chance running the game on a low-resolution laptop?

Hi there,

Running at top resolution (I believe it was 1900x1020. I can't get back to the settings menu either) on a fairly high end desktop (ATI 7950). Thanks for your help/replies.

I am getting the same issue. It actually occurred in the middle of the game on another storyline screen. It seems that the Next and Skip buttons are never posted so you can't actually interact. I've tried exporting/importing my game, starting a new game, deleting via Steam, deleting manually and rebooting. None of this fixed my problem.

Windows 7 Ultimate
Core i5 3570K
GTX570 with latest drivers
Running at 1920x1200 resolution

It appears this is a resolution issue. I went from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080 and the game does not properly scale the imaging. Thus, the buttons are actually cut off at the bottom.

Go into c:\users\*username*\appdata\Roaming\DefendersQuest\Local Store and open teh config.xml file. Search for "fullscreen" and replace with "windowed". You will now be able to see the buttons.

You beat me to the punch Orran :)

Yeah, whenever the game is running but you get stuck on a cutscene with no obvious way to progress, it's because the controls are cut off at the bottom.
