I can only hear music and see steam pop up.
Is that because I run it on Windows XP SP3?
If there is no WinXP support for DQDX anymore please confirm it.
No clue why it would be doing this for Windows 7.
Things I can think might be the problem:
- Bad graphics drivers (try updating)?
- Weird resolution (what are you using?)
- Save path issues (where did you install the game? Is your %APPDATA% directory available and is the hard drive it's on writeable, and is it not full?)
- Is your install corrupted? (Try reinstalling from Steam)
Maybe it will be helpfull: when i turned on setting "Use 256 colors" i have seen logo and loading text but it froze on 4/14.
My config is: intel core 2 duo 1,8 ghz, ati radeon hd 2600 pro, 3 gb ram.
Not ready yet, but coming soon.
My config for old PC is: intel core 2 duo 2.33 ghz, 3 gb ram, Intel(R) G33/G31 Express, Win 7 x64.
I think this is because of the integrated video card
Please opt in to the "test_public" beta branch. There should now be a third option on startup called "Play Deluxe Edition (OpenGL)".
The regular windows version of the game uses ANGLE to render, which has much better driver support than OpenGL, but sadly does not work with XP.
OpenGL has messier driver support, but is a good fallback option for XP users since ANGLE apparently doesn't run at all.
Plus, maybe some regular users can try both and see which gives them the best compatibility / performance.
