I would recommend you play through proton by the way. On Linux native I would get sub 120 fps, major stutters consistently, etc. I am on a Ryzen 7 3700X / RTX 3070 for reference.
With Proton, My PC doesn't break a sweat anymore and I easily average 170-200 fps the low being like 160 fps.

I had lost the save file when I changed the version, and for some reason my fps on the proton version dropped by half. The only problem is that other problems can occur in the native version, due to the fact that it is a bit outdated, etc. I'll probably migrate to Proton soon, since I now have my save back.
