Forcing Proton Reverted my Progress
Hey guys,

I've been playing Payday 2 natively on Linux for quite a while, but have been experiencing terrible performance.
I saw today that I can force the game to play through Proton, so upon activating it then launching the game, I saw that the game brought me back to level 76 while I was 96 before when I was launching through Linux Native.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Or is there some way I can get the progress from my "Linux" save on to the "Proton" version?

The same thing has just happened to me, and in my case all I have left are my continental coins. If you find a solution please tell me, I will do the same if I can solve it

I managed to recover my save just by going back to the native Linux version. Thank you very much and a happy new year to you.

Did you try move the linux_save098.sav to save098.sav like the document said at least?

I would recommend you play through proton by the way. On Linux native I would get sub 120 fps, major stutters consistently, etc. I am on a Ryzen 7 3700X / RTX 3070 for reference.
With Proton, My PC doesn't break a sweat anymore and I easily average 170-200 fps the low being like 160 fps.

Thank you, and I wish you and your family a happy new years too!

I had lost the save file when I changed the version, and for some reason my fps on the proton version dropped by half. The only problem is that other problems can occur in the native version, due to the fact that it is a bit outdated, etc. I'll probably migrate to Proton soon, since I now have my save back. Thanks for the advice, brother. a happy new year to all of us.🥳🥳🥳
