2nd this. Holding up + sides should run while aiming up, definitely. :wrench:
Yep. Aiming should take priority over moving.

I'll second that. For a game like this you definitely need that run-and-gun Gunstar Heroes / Slug ability to fire in every direction (diagonally included) while running and jumping around, presently it does feel a bit... oppressive? There's a little bit of a "feet nailed down" thing going on while shooting.

I support the OP.

"i wanna shoot up while running" and so he ran while he looked up and fell above a little stone directly into a stiletto. ;o)

Sholder buttons. One to aim 45 up, one 45 down, both straight up. Like in Metroid.
I suppose it might be game breaking.

I agree you should be able to move left and right while shooting upwards, though I should mention I don't think 8 way shooting is nessesary

2nd this. that would make some sections way too easy, too.

Probably should limit shooting up while running to smaller weapons like Handguns. No reason to use them at all right now. Give them something unique!

I actually don't think that shooting up while running is necessary, but having a 45-degree upwards aim would be very handy, especially while running. The current set-up feels very limiting.

If the bullets were more physically dynamic I wouldn't necessarily mind. In The Binding of Isaac, for example, your tears had a certain amount of inertia and would sort of move a little bit in the same direction you were moving when you shot them. The current limited aiming configuration presents an old-school challenge which is fine but it would be nice to have a little more nuance.

we NEED the ability to shoot while running and the ability to fire straight up and diagonally :mkmandrake:
