Why is this still a thing? Sometimes equipping a torch on a boat works sometimes it doesn't. Clear weather, no wind, no rain? Then you can't exit the boat in the dark even if you are on the shore the option just disappears. You can craft multiple torches and equip them in the dark but they don't work. Then you die.

I'm using a sail too and I don't understand if this is a known bug or if there's some random percentage chance that the torch won't work requiring you to craft a lantern type.
