Steam for Linux

Steam client takes over the screen.
So, I'm on Linux Mint 21.1 Victoria and I've set up my system menu bar to pop out when I move my mouse to the edge of the screen and hide otherwise. In the last couple of weeks, something about the Steam Client has changed and now, while the main client window is open, the system menu bar no longer pops up.

The system menu bar does become visible when I press the system/"Windows" key, but even then application shortcuts on the bar, including currently other applications currently open, are unresponsive. I can only interact with items in the main application menu, and even then it's buggy and only some of them are responsive. Even worse: if I tab-out to other applications, but leave the Steam Client maximised in the background, it continues to prevent interaction with the menu bar.

The culprit is almost certainly Steam, because as soon as I minimize the main client window (no need to even close it), everything works fine. It's almost acting like a fullscreen application, now that I think about it. Any ideas if there's a way to fix this on my own end by tweaking setting somewhere? Steam definitely should be taking over my screen this way, and it didn't do this until recently.

After some digging, I've found a suggestion to disable Hardware Acceleration for the Steam Client, so I'll be trying that out shortly, but posting anyway in case someone has the same problem.

Yep, turning off hardware acceleration in web views fixed everything.

This was on an AMD graphics card using Mesa drivers.
