TF2 64 bit update
Whenever I try to start up TF2 in 64 bit, the main menu doesn't load in. I can see the background image, hear the music, and even hear notifications telling me that there's a new item in my inventory, but none of the buttons load in and I'm unable to close the game or tab out. Specs below in case those are relevant:

OS: EndeavourOS Linux
KERNEL: 6.6.8-arch1-1
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (radeonsi, navi22, LLVM 16.0.6, DRM 3.54, 6.6.8-arch1-1)
GPU DRIVER: 4.6 Mesa 23.3.2-arch1.2RAM: 16 GB

The new version also defaults to Vulkan, so maybe that's making the problem?

assuming that it is the issue, how would I fix that?

I don't know, I'm using Nvidia, but it shouldn't be hard to find in the web.

adding -window to my launch options makes the game launch, but I need to switch back to fullscreen to make the text in the main menu show up without missing letters. Trying to join a match makes the game crash.

same here

launching with vulkan freezes the display. If i was new to linux and didnt know how to get out of X11 , terminate the process and get back in again i would have to hard shutdown. On wayland there are now limitations that stop you doing that anyway so that would definitely mean a hard shut down)

you can run the game fine with openGL though.

Seems like i have an almost identical spec system to OP. So it might be a hardware thing. or it might be that nobody plays TF2 other than myself, OP and bots.

Linux Mint / Endeavour OS
AMD 6700XT
Ryzen 5700X
6.8.9-x64v3-xanmod1
MESA 23.2.1

I gave up on getting the 64 bit version working on my rig. I hope valve does something to get this working on more setups, but I'm expecting disappointment.
