launching with vulkan freezes the display. If i was new to linux and didnt know how to get out of X11 , terminate the process and get back in again i would have to hard shutdown. On wayland there are now limitations that stop you doing that anyway so that would definitely mean a hard shut down)
you can run the game fine with openGL though.
Seems like i have an almost identical spec system to OP. So it might be a hardware thing. or it might be that nobody plays TF2 other than myself, OP and bots.
