Shared library not working after restarting Steam on Linux
Funny case. the feature itself works fine UNTIL you restart steam. If you go to a shared game, it will show you the option to purchase the game, even tho I have the access using the library sharing feature. Of course, the person sharing the library went to the settings and saw that the option to share the library is already on, so they re-enabled the option which kinda fixed the issue, but it breaks again next time you open steam. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Maybe a timing problem? Does the same apply if you stop Steam and start it say half an hour later?

possibly something left running by steam's first session

can you monitor processes opened by steam then which end and which remain when you exit steam?

does ending steam via "killall steam" instead of a friendly "exit" button click help?

Restarting/Shutting down the PC obviously kills all processes but still doesn't fix the issue, so I don't think it's necessary to try the killall command
