I have both steam deck and regular linux desktop. I'm having an issue with mass effect legendary edition that I don't have with any other game - original DS4 and compatible controllers won't work with it.
On the deck, the integrated controller works with ME. And that is all. Any external controller I try is not detected on ME LE - but works on the deck itself and any other game.
On ALL other games I tried (Fallout*, No Man's Sky, etc.) the DS4 controllers work quite well, both on the deck and my desktop, both wired and bluetooth connections. ME just doesn't.
Steam controller configuration detect the controller(s) as DS4 and can configure and tests them. jstest-gtk detects and tests the controller(s) perfectly. https://gamepad-tester.com/ detects and tests the controllers.
At this point, I am sure the issue is ME on linux specific.
I managed to get it to almost work with steam input disabled and using xboxdrv on the desktop, but the mapping is all wrong and I have not yet been able to fix it.
Tried different proton versions, and am back to 9.0-3 both on deck and desktop.
Any ideas?
