Steam for Linux

AMD - Steam & Linux (Mint)
Hello everyone,

I recently got a Gigabyte RX 480 OC with 8GB of VRAM, which I have on one of my Linux desktops. After a lot of trouble (upgrading the Kernel to host the 17.10 AMDGPU-Pro drivers), I was able to properly start Steam and run Tomb Raider.

However, the moment I pressed "Play", I got the message "Unsupported GFX Card'. However, Steam does recognize it as AMD RX 480. I decided to bypass it and run the game, only to get the benchmark of average 12fps (with a minimum of 6fps!)

I also tried it on Solus Linux (which I had to leave, since I cannot run some of my necessary software) and the game ran at an average of 35-60 fps on ultra. Now I know the card can deliver an average of 70+ fps on my system... but 12?!

Anyone had any similar experience or any workarounds?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

All Feral ports give the "Unsupported GFX Card" message, don't worry about it. 12-6fps makes me think something went wrong with your kernel/driver upgrade. Best advice I can give you is use the open source driver by getting yourself kernel 4.11 and mesa 17.1.0.
