AMDGPU is getting open sourced
https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd-open-vulkan&num=1

For the first time in ages, official AMD code will be available to the developers of the RadeonSI unofficial driver. This code notably includes the offical driver for Vulkan. I'm excited about this because hopefully it will mean out-of-the-box support for Vulkan on the R7 and R9 series cards, which currently require some hacking to support AMDGPU. And the last time I tried hacking something in the graphics stack, I got locked out of running do-release-upgrade.

Not yet comrade...

AMD stated "it will likely be within a few days", so we must wait.

It is going to be part of the 4.15 Kernel. Right now there's RC's available if you want to test it, i think right now they are on 4.15 RC4. Try it, just not on a production machine :steamhappy:
