Unable to install 15.7 drivers under Fedora 22
I recently did a clean install of Fedora 22 (xfce spin). It's running kernel 4.0.8 and all the latest updates. I'm unable to install the display driver due to the following:

fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers. /lib/modules/4.0.8-300.fc22.x86_64/build/include/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system.

So I installed kernal headers via yum and it still spits out the same error. I looked inside the 4.0.8-300.fc22.x86_64 folder and noticed that "build" is a broken sym link.

Any suggestions?

Try open-source driver. It works as good as as catalyst and it easier to install.

Fedora is not Catalyst-friendly at all. Either this or that.

I had no problem under Fedora 19 or even 20 installing the catalyst drivers. I would just download the driver, run the install via terminal, reboot and I'd be ready to play. If anything the only problem I had arose when trying to install the drivers on newer kernels.

I've run the Open Source drivers before just to see how they compare to AMD's. I can tell the difference with my R9 290 quite easily in games like Portal 2 and TF2. The framerate is much lower. I want to run the proprietary drivers just as I did under Fedora 19.

I have found great success in using SGFXI from http://smxi.org/ for installing official video drivers. You may want to give that a try.
I solved the problem. In order to get the driver to work under Fedora 22 you simply uninstall Fedora 22 and install CentOS in it's place. Then you'll be able to install everything perfectly. I just tested with HL2 and had no issues.
