Steam for Linux

Has anyone managed to use NVENC on (X)Ubuntu for In-Home Streaming?
I am trying to run In-Home Streaming from my mediacenter (Athlon 5350, GTX 750 Ti, Xubuntu 14.10) to my notebook (T440s, Xubuntu 14.10). The processor unfortunately seems to week to stream 1920*1080 (Slow encoding in the lower left corner).
Now as far as I understand, the GTX 750 Ti should support NVENC.

I installed the nvidia-346 driver from xedgers and according to nvidia-smi it is running. I enabled hardware encoding in the mediacenter steam setting.
Encoding is still slow, though. F6 says it is NV12 + libx264. Any ideas?

Open nvidia control panel, GPU -0 (your GPU model) tab. During streaming look at Video Engine Utilization string. If it shows value more than 0%, then it GPU encoding works. Otherwise it doesnt works.

https://github.com/Brainiarc7/ffmpeg_libnvenc - nvenc support for ffmpeg. Works with SSR, but is very limited (no cbr support for example).
