Many newer players (and even some more experienced ones) tend to assume that the top leaderboard scores can't possibly be legitimate.

Actually, the vast majority of top scores ARE legitimate!

This thread is meant to help protect legitimate players from undue scrutiny and encourage newer players to seek new heights through practice, like the rest of us did.


It is difficult to be certain whether a particular score or player are legitimate. Almost all posted leaderboard scores are technically attainable. This list is intended as a reference only. Every entry is marked with a general reason for their inclusion. Not all entries have the same degree of certainty.

Zen has stated that they will remove scores that they can 100% confirm to be illegitimate if reported to the support e-mail (support@zenstudios.com). Presumably if an undeleted suspicious score appears on this list, either Zen is not yet aware, has not had time, or cannot verify with 100% certainty that the score is illegitimate.

Please be considerate before accusing someone of cheating. Feel free to reach out to me via IM to discuss suspicious profiles or scores rather than accusing them openly here.



NG: Doesn't own the game/DLC. (this could be due to use of Family Sharing)

NA: No Achievements - a score that high without having the achievements unlocked is very unlikely. In very rare cases achievements may not have gotten uploaded.

LPT: Low Play Time - a score that high is unlikely given the player's low play time. Although it is possible that they are coming here from another account/platform. In rare cases, there can be a discrepancy between actual play time and what Steam sees.

VAC: Player has a VAC ban on their profile. This means they have been caught cheating in another game by Valve's automated anti-cheat system. A VAC ban alone does not imply that they are cheating here now and will only be mentioned in combination with other compelling reasons for suspicion.

BUG: Score is due to a bug. If a player discovers a bug that yields an abnormally high score, it is advised to contact Zen directly and avoiding posting a score. Note that a bug is distinct from an exploitative scoring strategy (e.g. repeat a safe shot as in Spider Man or Ultron). This refers to completely unintentional, obviously incorrect game behavior that awards large amount of points for minimal or no effort. In the interest of minimizing damage from such bugs, please do not ask about or discuss specifics of such bugs that positively impact scoring. Report them to Zen directly.

The Last Verified Champ column lists the highest score that I can vouch for as being legitimate (either knowing the player or inferring from their activity). If a higher score exists by a non-private profile that is not listed in the last column, then I am not aware of it yet or have not had a chance to update here. Please let me know privately if you see one!



Self-Inflicted Wound - Mentioned to me privately that Biolab score was due to a glitch.


t0adphr0g: 3 hours is not enough to generate 3 top scores. No visible high score on Shaman. Only has one V12 achievement.
WarzzTV: 4 hours with 600M on Excalibur and 1.2B on Sorc. Lair. Only has the Pathfinder achievement. Possible that he played just those two games and did very, very well at Excalibur multiball, but seems very unlikely.
fragmaster1994: 2 hours for #1 score of 1.4B on Captain America may be impossible, certainly unlikely.
ZOOMZOOMA: 7 hours with #1 score on Butters (more than double the next best) with no achievements
666karol666: 4B on Sorc Lair in 1.6 hours is probably not possible.

Due to concerns raised about the perception of unfair accusations, the thread content was toned down. The original thread listed private profiles explicitly by display name.
