I'm a little frustrated, and can't figure out what's going on with my player. He's 22, standard progression, 4-5 star potential. In the previous season, he seemed to be doing well. He started this season ranked 52, and has fallen to 136. His skills have continued to improve, but he struggles to beat even 350 ranked opponents, even when their shape is weak. I can't seem to get his shape to stay above medium for long, and it falls back to weak constantly. He got to excellent shape, and lost in the first round to a 428 ranked player who was weak. the following week, his shape was weak once again.

Most recently, I did a "light" week before a tournament, and his start of week status showed him tired. He had nothing but rest on Saturday and Sunday.

On top of this, there are 5 total players at my academy. Most weeks, at least 1 is injured. On average, it's about 1.4 injured players per week. My physios are all Hardened and above, and my facility is 3 or better. I have the coaches scheduling their tournaments, so I can focus on my player.

Is this typical? I'm really struggling with why my 100 ranked player, with very good stats, can't beat a 300-400 ranked player this year, after 2 seasons of regularly (maybe 40% of the time) beating players ranked 100 spots ahead of me.
