Missing map location on the coast
I always could get it before but now I can't figure out how to open it up. It's in the center on the west edge along the coast. I would always go in and kill like 6 or 8 sirens there for 2k xp a pop and get biting arrows with a pearl on each. Now I can't trigger it from the north, east, or south (lighthouse) locations exiting them in the general direction that once opened up accessibility (usually was the eastern map location exiting westward). How do I access this location?

start at Beregost>south>west

I believe the map is called "Red Canyons"

edit: actually I think you're mistaken, there are no sirens here. They are in the Lighthouse and Shipwrecks Coast maps.

To get to Shipwrecks Coast = HighHedge>west

The lighthouse is in AR3600 and has several sirens. But there are also 3 or 4 sirens in the lower left hand corner of AR3100 (with a ship wreck). There is no name assigned to it that I can find. This area in north of the lighthouse. It looks like the OP might be referring to this one.

I get to AR3100 by going to Beregost, then west to the High Hedge. Cross the High Hedge area and exit on its west border. AR3100 "should" now be visible. Hope this helps.

EDIT: You can find a complete map with all the locations (with names and numbers) on GameBanshee.

They all have names. That one is called "Shipwrecks Coast" = AR3100. Look it up on the wiki.

I believe you. I have just gotten used to the map available on GameBanshee which only labels it AR3100. But south of the shipwreck there is a little peninsula and either 3 or 4 sirenes down there. Also a bunch of dread and dire wolves you can encounter along the southern section as you approach that peninsula (good for easy XP farming) : )

Couldn't find the map on Gamebanshee, how do you go to where it is, I went to the BG:EE bit and it has nothing there, I already have a map but wanted to see if it was different. BTW: do you also know the gaming website where they tell you "time of completion: casual, completionist etc." it also has a whole list of quests and side quests where you could tick off.

It still hasn't unlocked it. The original game map is different. The peninsula south of Candlekeep is the same, and the light house is the second south, with another location at the 3rd north of the location north of the gnoll keep. I'm at a loss.

Once you open the BG:EE page, click on Walkthrough BG:EE on the left side under "Subsite Navigation". When that page opens look at the right hand side labeled "BG Walkthrough". The 2nd link down is the "Full Area Map".

I seem to recall recently seeing time of completion info you mention. It might on GOG.

I forgot that the map changed slightly, my apologies. I will dig around so more.

EDIT: Okay, on the EE map, AR3100 (Shipwreck Coast) is the area just north of the area with the lighthouse. But it should become accessible by exiting from either the north edge of the lighthouse area or the west edge of the High Hedge area (Thalantyr's keep & store). You also might try the south edge of the Ambush Area. But you have to exit from those specific edges at least one time for the new area to become visible.

I just went to it and verified that there are indeed sirines in the lower left corner of that map. The 3 or 4 there plus the ones on the Lighthouse map should add up to either 8 or 9 total.

If it doesn't open from those map edges, something is wrong.

There are around 6 sirines in the Lighthouse section map. The map section you mention doesn't have any sirines.

Which map section are you referring to? This is the EE map, the Original Game map is slightly different. Say the number of map you are trying to get to. But as already mentioned the Lighthouse (aka Seawatcher Tower) is where the 6 sirines are including the gang of sirines at the cave entrance with Sil as their leader.

West of 2. I've been playing this since the original back in I think it was 97, and I always went to the coast for the extra sirens NOT in the lighthouse map. There is another location that doesn't have a ship or lighthouse but has sirens and I easily unlocked them by moving from the corresponding east map adjacent. The only other location on the coast that doesn't open like that is the one north of the gnoll fort with Dynaheir. I can get over it, but it looks like a giant empty gap to me and the extra xp from sirens would be nice before I progress the story after escaping Candlekeep. I've always got the werewolf island and Durlags to go but that's approximately 8k xp less. I will run the lighthouse again, but (and maybe I'm wrong) but memory serves that there is no north exit from there, and west from High Hedge just doesn't unlock it on the map. And the shipwreck map has a cliff too with no southern exit available.

If something is wrong I can always verify the game files.... maybe it will correct something if it fails a check.

Ryu, unfortunatyetly that's the whole entire map unlocked. If you find something west of 2 please tell me as it would be a secret area. :steamhappy: I think you're just getting confused, happened to me loads of times before I started meta gaming. I now have complate maps and checklists. It takes a bit of the "magic" away but as a completionist suits my style of play.

In the original CD set (non EE) there might have been another area that was eliminated or moved in the EE version. I do not recall any sirines there though. It's been a while since playing the original so my memory is fuzzy. Unfortunately my computer that could play the CD version has died so I can't check.

But EE did rearrange the map. At present the only sirines are in the lighthouse and shipwreck area (unless you want to take on the 4 in the temple of Lathander east of Beregost).

nah, none were eliminated, just moved around. I have tons of maps if anyone wants them. Ryu is probably confused because where he mentions is where the Lighthouse (aka Seawatcher Tower) was originally. Then they moved it to the peninsula beneath where the Archaeological site was and moved that further inland. Don't know why, but I only assume it's because as far as I remember the arch site isn't on the coast, so probably seemed weird positioned there.
