BGEE to BG2 Achievements
I have to vent out a bit my frustration here, because the achievements guides I have found so far for BGEE & SoD have let me down over and over. I had to replay several chapters many times because the guides fail to mention things in a sensible order. Imagine that I had to replay half SoD and over half of BGEE because nobody mentions that if you kill Baeloth, you can't get a couple of Achievements in SoD. Really?!

So, are there other *gotcha moment* awaiting me in BG2? Will any decision or NPC I interact with or kill or fail to kill in BG1 will affect some achievements in BG2?

Nope. If one of the characters dies in BG1 (especially Minsc, Jaheira or Imoen) they will somehow, magically, be alive again when BG2 starts. BG2 is essentially a separate game from BG1, so anything you do beyond any characters you import will have no effect.

Good luck!

Even better: If you choose in BG2 the dialogue "Aren't you supposed to be dead?" They give you some really hysterical answers why they are still alive!

I don't get hung up on the achievements. They were not part of the original games. If I earn one, I earn one. It's fun to see how "less than 5% of players" have earned one when you get it. But you would need a half-dozen runs or more to earn them all. I am not completing the game as a monk just for a lousy badge!

Fortunately, there are no requirements to finish the game as such and so class. BG2, on the other hand, requires you to get each of the "main four" classes (fighter, thief, cleric and wizard) or their offshoots to level 30, and the best way to do that is by playing through the game.

That being said, a minimum of two runs are required for all achievements, and that's if you allow "save-scumming." I managed to do it in three.
Thank you for the replies.

Even if it all achievements are unlocked, it seems like at least one thing in BG1 will have an impact in BG2:

It seems like killing him will affect something in BG2 (don't know if for better or worse).

He will refuse to help you against Bodhi (like you need him!)

User you will meet his full team upon escaping the Underdark. No walk in the park battle. Besides you can't keep his stuff. It is kool weapons & equipment. Too bad there is no achievement for killing him in both series.

Half the time he steals the kill and you lose out on 91k experience. Yeah, ToB throws XP at you left and right, but it's the principle of the thing. Or he kills your vampirized romance partner.
