Joining missions late
5 times in a row while trying to do Alchemy for relics, I joined when they were all releasing the pressure valves. I had no time to collect 10 reactant to crack my relic. This should be fixed. If I'm being thrown into an in-progress mission that requires I collect something for the reward but not given enough time to do so, I should automatically be able to crack my relic. It's a waste of time. and before anyone says that the other teammates should wait, that's on them. They're just doing the objective DE put in place and if I can't crack my relic when they're doing the objective, then I should get a freebie.

Try another type of missions.
Or you can always play at that mission where you can take all type of relics (survival omni?)

Alchemy is the faster one. OPs problem is he's joining a game that's already in progress rather than starting from the beginning (so there's a chance to actually get the reactant.)

if you ever wanna be the host more lower the ping matchmaking to the lowest, people will still be able to join above that ping limit but u will not join as a client essentially making it more likely to be the host and you won't have to worry about joining missions late.

Relic isn't lost and you go in next round in couples of minutes, your time loss is minimal i that case. Avoid excavate sites and disruptions when doing void fissures with random people though.
