Brother there are 3 people playing and these forums are a ghost town. I'd say cope but neither of us have a copy.
What facts? The servers still running? Do you think Terri Schiavo was still alive?
I need brains for the zombies.
exp for the survivor has jumped dramatically.
It had a good run. Finished at level 11 player 7 zm.
almost 100 hrs in and I couldnt even afford the tier 2 zombies.
My ai had better zombies that i did, by far....
Lower the requirements for leveling the player and the zm and its zombies please.
Buy the game, what are you waiting for? Be the 4th player in a growing community.
Cope aside what future do you see for this game? Im curious since this is the only active thread in the last 5 days and steam charts make the state of the game pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obvious. Loosen the straps on the helmet and take your medication.
I stated the game was dead, you came in here to split hairs.
"EhHerm Ackually we don't know that for sure! the game is still running stop spreading fake news" - You
Game -is- dead, I do not have to wait for the official announcement to see the writing on the wall. Yes you can argue it's a lie by technicality, common sense says the opposite.
Would you recommend this to a friend knowing the state of the game? If no, why not?
I want to jump in to address the speculation directly with full transparency.
We look at the same data that you do. We are not in denial about the commercial performance. However, "RIP" implies pulling the plug, and that is not our intention (TFP and iLLOGIKA). Our goal is to restructure the game's operations to reduce running costs so we can keep the game on the Steam Store and playable long-term for those who own it.
To be completely open with you: at iLLOGIKA, we have had to gradually reduce the project team size since December to match this reality. We reassigned staff to other projects where possible, but unfortunately, we had to proceed with layoffs for the core of the project team. Very soon, we will be down to the equivalent of one full-time person maintaining the game.
Beachtrader: I saw your note about the progression wall. First, thank you for putting 100 hours in, that is incredible dedication given the context. With the team scaling down, we will be slowing down development a lot, but tweaking values is something we should be able to keep doing.
Yes. This game is not going to recover, it will bleed until the cost to keep it alive is unjustifiable.
Read the devs response to this thread and respectfully eat my bussy.
Hey there Bussy,
To be clear, there is a way to run this game at a near zero cost. For example, the server code could be repackaged to be self hosted by players if needed. Our aim is to make sure operating costs never trigger a decision to kill the game.
True, However I want to be frank with you, getting 5 real people for a pug in a very low trafficed game is a tall order, sure you can fill slots with Ai but thats its own problem. The Half-life ZM mod had this issue and died pretty quickly, do I play the zm by myself or shootting zombies with firends the choice was clear. This suffered a crippling negative-feedback loop already poisoned by the association with TFP, most people are not going to seperate ILLOGIKA from TheFunPimps
Keep in mind this thread is more a dig at the state of the game and not the people who worked on it. Im sure you will be dealt better hands in the future
I appreciate the frankness and I see the same difficulties for the game you mention.
We are looking for the 'least worst solution' here. We know we can't force a massive revival overnight, especially with the baggage you mentioned. So, the goal is exactly what I described: stripping down the costs and removing the dependencies so the game can live to fight another day.
If we can stabilize it in a state where it costs nothing to keep online, it remains available for friends who do want to play, rather than becoming just another dead icon in a Steam library.
And thanks for the kind words regarding the team. We’ll keep pushing.
I believe you should mark the game as f2p. you will not change a single thing. Just mark it as f2p and if someone wants to unlock more progression they will buy the premium pack. As it is now people are afraid to try it because of no players and negative reviews. Also it would help if you introduce "happy hours" +50% xp/loot so that players play at that time. Lobbies will get more full that way.
