To many puzzles.
The game is definetly worth it as long as you get it on sale. The gameplay and controls are good and I like the story , but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ there is to many puzzles to do. Seems like I cant even talk to the AI girl without having to complete a puzzle. They went overboard on that ♥♥♥♥.

It's like complaining about race game having too many race moments. That was whole point of this game, combination of point and clock adventure where you must solve riddles with shooter. This game would be boring if all you would do was kill bunch of enemies and rush to the end of map.

Riddles aren't even hard, I have spend the longest, like 2 min on one to open door using insect disks and the only reason why is because I did not see it there to pick up. Apparently it's not game for you, I consider this game portal with guns, something refreshing and games that make you use your brain and solve some riddles are always fun to have, shame these are rare.

Well it gets kinda old real fast when you have to solve 20 puzzles before you can even get to an enemy. Like I said the gameplay is good and the story is good just went way overboard on the puzzles. The puzzles are easy its just boring having to do so many all the time.

You have only 2h, so I assume you never left egypt. It's first chapter, there is not much fight, 2nd has way more of it, I loved that in this game, some peaceful moments of eexploration and puzzles and then intense mine cart indiana jones style race with bunch of enemies to shoot at. It's well balanced, but if you expect shooter only then you will be disappointed. Portal has no shooting at all and people loved it.

I'm only 2 hrs in because all the puzzles are monotonous. I'm looking forward to moving in the story. I'm not looking for shooting all the time but wouldnt be anything wrong with a little break from the puzzles ever few mins. And I cant wait to get to the Indiana Jones type parts. Just gonna take a little while longer cause I stop playing after so many turn this pull that stuff. I like the game otherwise.

Well, it is a puzzle game. My problem is that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ notebook is frakkin' worthless. Right now I'm at the place in the ice temple after blowing up the boss who's immune to bullets and shooting the rope to drop the footbridge (and picking up three treasures), and now I'm supposed to use the notebook with three devices that turn off the fire so we can continue. The notebook says which symbols on the column go with which lever positions, and then you press a button…but the notebook doesn't say where you're supposed to stand when you're doing it. I've been screwing with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing for twenty minutes. (20 MIN after 17 HRS)

This thread is what made me buy the game.

Sadly the Tomb Raider games have taken a turn for the worse by moving away from puzzles and exploration to just pewpew fighting and being 3D visual novels.

It's nice to hear that there are games still carrying the torch of the original Tomb Raider games.

Heh. I was first turned onto PC gaming with 1996's first Tomb Raider. Then, the developers of Square Enix's 2013 iteration made me boycott the franchise for life, chiefly because of the stolen-camera focus and interminable cutscene sequences. Tomb Raider just plain SUCKS now.
