Timing and similar issues on godus, a discussion.
Firstly, though i've seen some discussions on the timers, they seemed fairly rage filled. I want to assure the developers that i understand the games going to take time to get to where it needs to be, so anything i say is to be taken as feedback and not a demand. :D:

I really enjoyed the first iteration of Godus, but when it got the big do-over i felt it was really bad as a game (the loss of the multiplayer mode was a shame). I played the latest version at the weekend and i've got to say its back to being really good again.

That said, too much of the game seems to be based on mobile game principles. A house shouldn't take 3 hours to build, and i shouldn't have to wait 3 days for a new farmer to be produced. This sort of thing isn't so bad on mobile, because you play abit here and there. But PC gaming is built around more solid periods of gameplay. Even belief generation is abit slow it the latest version. I have spent plenty of time unable to do anything, simply waiting for belief. PC timers really need to be shorted to make the game more playable. Not cut out completely, but nothing should really take more than 30 min to do.

Also, as a side note, if i leave the game window open for to long without doing anything the whole game sort of pauses. Builders stop building, belief stops generating, people just stand still. I'm assuming this is a implementation to prevent afk farming, rather than a glitch. However, when you can quit the game, wait, then go back in and have all these thing be completed, it makes not being able to afk an inconvenience rather than stopping farming. (Also, is the game you want to create one where closing the game between building becomes a core mechanic?)

That's all. I'd love to hear from any developers on these points. As to any players, should you post, keep it friendly. You can post your own opinions to this, for or against, but remember: these are our opinions and experiences. No-one is more right, or more wrong than anyone else, so disagree if you will, but don't be abusive.

Thanks.
