Godus
Sculpting
I've been playing Godus since it was first pushed out... and back then sculpting was in bad shape with no drag, just click, click, click, ad infinitum.

It's a lot better these days with the click and drag feature, and the 3 and 5 layer drag sculpting.

However, and this is just my opinion, I think it can still be improved by some simple changes...

1) Move 3 & 5 layer sculpting earlier and balance when they are awarded against the need for sculpting out more land for more population

2) The current click & drag stops after a certain point, and only affects the current layer(s), change this to allow unlimited drag (pending belief to support it, ala leashing) and allow the drag to affect up to as many layers as you have the god power to do (again, pending belief to power it ala leashing)

3) Increase the layers affected with rewards that allow not only 3 and 5 layer... but 7 and 10 as well. I understand you don't want to see ALL flat land everywhere. That's fine... but some of us like LARGE flat areas at different elevations, and currently it's very wearing on my wrist and mouse to get there :)

4) Consider modes of play and provide them via a menu and different save files/folders.
1 Mode for 'Mellow' where the flow is smooth, unhurried, long, and peaceful - much like we have currently. A 2nd mode where the flow is as intense and furious as the most popular RTS games. Where the Astart think raiding parties are fun parties. Where volcanoes might erupt without warning and lightning might start forest fires. Where people stuck int he same house for too long start getting unhappy. Where unhappy people might riot... or just go join the Astari out of the blue. Fast & Furious like, nonstop action.

Just my two cents :)

Thanks

You may be a long-time player, but are you a recent player?

Once you unlock 3 layer sculpting, you can upgrade to more layers. Even more than 10...
Indeed - I hadn't played in a few weeks due to work/holidays. I am pleasantly surprised currently. Point 3 is certainly addressed :)

However, I stand by my other points - although the mods make point 4 considerably less important to me.

Most importantly I would love to be able to 'paint' broad strokes of sculpted land... not small pieces.

Still, the game is absolutely advancing and becoming more fun. I am loving/hating the astari raids that kill my farming communities!
