Keeps crashing to desktop
I am running godus on a 2013 macbook pro, 2.4GHz i7 with 16 GB RAM on OS X Mavericks.
Since the latest update with the commentary the game has started crashing a fair bit.

It now crashes when I just start it, get past the splash screen and when it gets to the playing screen, it crashes.

Any ideas on how to perform a restart?

I was able to play for a few hours, and have about 250 odd followers. But now it does not even start up anymore.
I tried to copy the crash log and post it here, but it is limited to 1000 characters.

Hey Niels

If you visit this link, {LINK REMOVED}, and submit us both your save game (the folder starting with "prf1") and the file named "Verbose" that will be more than enough and a huge help

Hopefully with this we can find the cause of your crash and get a fix out to you as soon as possible :)

Hi Salmon,

I just checked the local files for Godus under steam and the all that it finds is a folder called mac with godus.app in there.
The path for that folder is: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/godus.

Where would the files you mentioned be located?

Same thing happening to me and i still CANT PLAY THIS GAME

I write to your support and after XYZ days i get answer for iOS not MAC even that i stated this problem is MAC couple times. And now no answer for XZY days... frustrating SO MUCH

Also i want to help to FIX this BS but i write in 2 threads as answer to you that i can do ANYTHING and you didnt answer. Now i see that some files are cool to be send and yeah as me_neils i cant find them .... even if i "show package content" they are just not there so PLEASE explain MORE or something

and of course for 10th time my ID ticket is 9900 :Uranium:

Sorry Niels I wasn't aware you are running a MAC thats my bad for not checking first, i have a bad habbit of sending the method to find it on PC and forgetting the other platform it could be reported from :)

To find this "prf1" folder on a Mac follow these steps:
  • Press Go and hold Alt
  • Click on Library
  • Application support
  • And inside the Godus file you should see the one starting with "prf1"

This is what would be a huge help to be sent in by both of you :)

Topanka again i apologise for any mistakes made by the people handling your ticket, we are under huge pressure at the moment due to the level of sent in material needing our attention so some things will be missed or replied to incorrectly
I believe i have replied to all your steam posts at this point but do understand on a day i come in to 150 new threads the community team is going to be stretched

YES i get finally real answer to my ticket and i already sent those files ... im uploading them to my dropbox so i can send you link here - i think that your support is broken and cant handle bigger files or files at all because my answer wen trough without that file ... i post it here in couple minutes

IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE I CAN HELP TO FIX THIS FASTER LET ME KNOW I DO ANYTHING JUST TO PLAY GAME I PAY FOR

Remember you have paid for an Early Access game which is still very much in development so sadly its going to have a bugs both now and in the coming updates, however as we move forward the level of issues will of course drop and your playing experience will continue to be improved :)

YES i know that its early access thats why i buy it after how long it is? year and half or two already? So im cool with bugs in game and i expect them but bugs like "cant open game" are magic after so many months especially on Mac since there is only small amount of machines to support mac not like million versions of PCs :)

But yeah i dont know much about this ...

Also you wirte somewhere that Mac computers are first in development .)

so my game is fixed now ... thanks to your support

Seems like my save file get corupted in my progress and thats why my game was crashing every time on start.

As i told to your support if there is anything else i can help so you can fix this "save get corupted" problem just tell me and im happy to help

Sorry you had some issues with our support but due to the updates we got heavily swamped in things that needed attention so someone probably missed the details of your report, however i'm glad we finnaly got it resolved :)

I'll be sure to let you know in the future if any further files or information would be useful and of course if you suffer any other bugs, big or small, then get right back in touch with me :)

p.s. About the crash bug, most of the serious ones like this have been dealt with over development time but due to each PC/mac being personal in some way it makes it very hard to fix individual crashes, even more so with crashes like this that we cant reproduce in house without players files :(

Hey again Niels

Both of these options would indeed restart your game but if you wanted to do this i would recommend the deleting option rather than rename just to be safe, you can always keep the old prf1 on your desktop or somewhere as a back up (If its not broken and corrupted) :)
