not working witn windows 10?
I got a new computer with windows 10, reinstalled the game even starting over, and it ran for a few days with the occasional crash. Today though it wont even finish loading before it crashes. Computer is only 3 days old so no chance of virus. Any workarounds?

I cant even get it to load, when I click play, the 'loading' screen comes up, and thats all, if I click the X, nothing happens, I have to go task manager and end it from there... I was kinda looking forward to this but I cant even play it at all

I've moved the topic to the bugs section. The team is aware of the issue, and hopefully there should be a fix quite soon.

I'm also using Windows 10. Cannot close the game without using Task Manager. Exiting gives me a minimised Godus window...and no mouse pointer. Bizarre!

Windows 10 as well, seemingly random crashing from the start. Could the be a driver thing, an issue with ssd's? It's bumming me out. I was looking forward to playing with all the new developments {haven't played in a LONG time}.

I'm having a similar issue this morning ; i get to the loading screen of Godus and then get an error message reporting "S3 Application Launcher Has Stopped Working."

My system is Windows 10 - 64 bit.
Steam package version is 1454620878
Godus screen shows Updated Beta v2.4 53% complete with "11468.35189" at the bottom
(in case relevant)

I was told that internally the game is working on Windows 10, so it seems that the operating system by itself is not the cause of the problem. But since it's running correctly on internal Windows 10 machines, they can't reproduce the bug.
This leaves us with the question; is there something else that the people who are experiencing this bug have in common? This could be anything, from the graphics card being used, to some obscure program running in the background.

I had the problem on my old computer running on windows 7. Got a brand new rig for xmas with windows 10 and same exact problem.

So basically some people are doomed to not have the game work? if the problem can be literally anything theres one in a million chance to find the solution.

Few things I've tried (none worked but your milage may vary! and one which did eventually work)

Stuff that didn't work.
Set laptop to airline mode - started steam in offline mode and ran godus.
Got a windows alert saying Wiindows firewall has blocked some features of this app - but it wasn't for Godus, it was for S3e application launcher. I hadn't seen this before, but might have been appearing in the background since I had Godus set to fullscreen at launch.
I updated the Firewall permissions and restarted Steam and Godus.
Looked like it was getting somewhere - took longer to get started.... but again an error message saying S3e application launched stopped.

Disabled my AntiVirus and alll background apps and started steam again (still in offline mode)
Still no joy - get the same error message.

Re-enabled network access and started again (had to set Steam to online mode manually) and started it was showing that I had last played Godus today for 2 minutes. I started Godus and.... it still produced the error message.

Stuff that did work (try this last - seriously)

In desperation I decided to take drastic action - went into my steam folders
(on my system it's
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Godus\windows )

I took my profile folder (the one that begins prfxxxxxxx) and moved it to the desktop.
Restarted Godus and... it bloody worked. i'm back at the start screen with 2 little followers drowning and all the tutorials waiting for me to play through them.

On the bad side, I had over 500 hours in Godus and it looks like I've lost them.
I'm going to try copying some of my old save files over the new files to see if I can recover my progress I've made.
Updates to follow.

Thanks for posting that Peteybehr! If the same solution makes the difference for everyone else here, then we know the cause and I'll ask QA if there's a way to do it without losing progress. But like you did, try and keep those files in a separate folder rather than outright throwing them away. I'm not sure but they might prove useful still. Would be a shame if fixing the problem had to go at the cost of losing hundreds of hours of progress.
