How about every 100 gems you get from the pit of doom a giant climbs out.
posted this in another thread but who reckons this would be fun?

EDIT: Reason = A challenge, to stomp your followers destroy your buildings etc. something to shake up snoresville and make you think about using the pit for killing your followers rather than just chucking them in and not giving two hoots about them? Of course you can kill the giant or lead him away down a sculpted route, but again you need to plan for this challenge. Better than the Astari in my opinion

What are you going to do when all your settlements require 23h59m or 134 gems to spawn a breeder? That's a lot of giants to kill.

The pit of doom should not even give us gems. It should be for striking fear in our followers and force them to work even faster. The more followers you kill, the more your alignment goes from Good towards Evil. Evil gods get evil powers (swamp, meteror, etc) whereas good gods get good powers (beautify, increase in breeding (love), increase in production, rainbows & unicorns).

Those timers will change for PC they are not realistically going to be in the final PC game (the devs have said so themselves). If the pit of doom stays there is currently also no consequence to sacrifice. So what if you lose a couple of buildings. At least there would be a challenge. Currently the only challenge is card and beacon collection. The Astari don't last long.
