Godus

The Universim includes Jupiter
I just found something very promising. The Universim. It's in his early early early planning stadium but still more promising than godus ever was.

A new generation GOD GAME ON PC should look and feel like this. Oh... and yes... as we all know... The Universe includes the planet Jupiter. ;-)

So what does this game differ from godus? Its a promise nothing more nothing less.
Kerby84 24 Feb, 2014 @ 3:05am
At the moment... nothing. But as far as I can see the promise given in the concept looks really interesting and there is no Peter Molyneux involved. ;-) And no mobile gameplay mechanics at all. ;-) And the universim does not collect money atm. ;-) And does not go on sale ;-)

You dont get it do you? Godus also looked interesting and look where we are now.
The concept of early acess is dead for me. Once burned twice shy.

Does not collect money so why is there a pre order button?

I do get it. :-) The concept of Early Access (or Kickstarter) is not dead for me. I backed several other projects like Stonehearth and War For The Overworld (and I'm happy about it and glad to support such great indie teams and give them a chance to develop great games). Just because one stupid Guy (Peter Molyneux) raped the system of Kickstarter or Early Access, does not mean other real independent developers are the same. He never should have been allowed to use Kickstarter or go on Early Access.

Sure there are sometimes black sheep. We had one with Peter Molyneux... But to be true... He is and was famous for overhyping and underdelivering. We should have known better. And one good thing... His credibility is down to zero. He'll never do this again to such a mass of people.

Preorder does not work. It's a placeholder for a mailing list you can subscribe to. And as I said. I'd support great Ideas of real independent developers. One thing that I've learned from backing godus... Never trust a developer with a "big" name and a "huge" ego. I'll only support real indipendent developers that deserve a chance in my opinion.

I'm not into defending a game I do not know. BUT they have not collected fundings to develop the game atm. So why should they hurry? They maybe end up like the guy who developed Banished over years and earn money then. :-)

Godus DID collect fundings via Kickstarter, Paypal and Steam EA and they do not deliver anything.

My only intention was to draw some attention from people who did not hear about it (like me) to follow the progress of the development. Visiting a website once in a while does not hurt anyone. :-)

"Thank you for your interest in
pre-ordering The Universim Game.

Unfortunately pre-orders are currently disabled, however you can subscribe to our Newsletter for updates and get notify when you will be able to
pre-order the Universim Game"

So aparently they're not collecting money...

It looks interesting, I'll keep an eye on this game.

looks kind of interresting. but it also looks a bit like it wants to be a casual dumbed down game.

@Blackhammer I don't know a game that uses google maps to generate terrain. Can you search for the game you're meaning? This game looks more like Spore if you know it. Or simply visit the site. And btw. The Universim was first mentioned in Steam Sep. 2013.

Yeah I confused this game with another, sorry, Universim looks nice but Godus did too before release so no pre-order from me.

i am done with kickstarter and early access.
PM managed to educate me on not ever trusting these business models for a mere €20.
In that sense: Thank you Mr. Molyneux.

Kickstarter, EA ='s Give us your money now! We promise this & that w/ a video showing you all kinds of magical stuff. Code not written yet, merely a concept, but it will be the best game in the (insert genre here) ever done! I abhore vids. Most of them never show actual game play. Show me the game in play please, not some trailer from a non existant game. Thanks PM (used this technique & soured me forever on this mode of game creation). Why must we have to go to Youtube to see someone ACTUALLY playing the game to see what it really plays/looks like? To the OP: Thanks for posting tho, will follow to see the final product on Youtube.

I wish you success with your project, but Peter Molyneux said nearly the same.
Thank him for destroying trust.

Thank you and sorry to hear that. I'm not really aware of what are current issues with Godus but I hope talented people in 22Cans will sort them out and will keep you guys happy. It looks like it is still in early development phase.
