I have it solved, too.
It turns out that I must cancel all of my many common rooms except one.
It pass as soon as I have only one common room left.

So... It's a bug.

Well, I had two common rooms, and I just had to place the chairs in the one I earlier had to build for the quest, but, yeah, I assume it's a bug, too.

I can't believe they didn't fix this bug yet......

I was stuck on this too. I had created one common room first where I put TVs etc. Then another where I put the chairs to let the psychologist do his magic. When I just crammed 8 chairs into the first room (which didn't really fit them) the quest was done. This is a bug and should be fixed.

what happens if you have 2 common rooms but cant delete them? made a common room when it told me too, but for some reason my cleaning cupboard where i originally had it, still says i have one there but cant delete it as its a cleaning cupboard now..at least i T%HINK thast where it was, because there is only 1 actuall common room otherwise but the game says 2

Bug still exists smh devs this one isn't hard to fix

For me the ONLY way it worked is that I made all my common rooms (which were all arcades and were freakin sweet) into cleaning closets cause I didn't want to destroy them. BY leaving only 1 common room it worked thx lads!

This is exactly what I did {changed all my common rooms except for one with the 8 chairs) because the bug is still there unfortunately. Just change it to anything else so you can get past the chapter and then change it back to what you want. Thx everyone for the thread.

the campaign is very linear in this. it expects you to follow the instructions to the letter in the most obvious way, otherwise it breaks

and not gonna change. the campaign is scripted and expects you to follow the tasks without much creativity. having it account for all the ways a cheeky gamer would try to break it was simply not its goal. leave it in peace as the piece of tutorial that it is.
