All other player names shown as "[unknown]"

Since today the game shows other players as "[unknown]" to me, both on the leaderboards and during the race (with "Ghost Names Visible" on).

Did I accidentally turn on something that censors player names? How do I turn it off? I can't find anything like it in the options and restarting the game did nothing.
