Definitely not wheel/flight stick, but controller and keyboard are pretty split, you can get top of the boards with either. They each have their own pros and cons so it's mostly just personal preference and how much practice you put in. If you have any specific questions about either of them though, feel free to ask.

I personally prefer using a controller. Easier to control gripflight that way.

I prefer the controller, better control over the car and all the features.

Keyboard has an advantage when performing complicated air control, but it will always lose at turning on the ground.
On the hardest workshop levels, there are more keyboard players completing them compared to controller players due to this air control advantage.

Not saying it's "faster" than controllers, just that it's easier to perform certain manuevers.

Most racing games I use controllers (Xbox type) but with this game due to flying, flips, and aerial controls. I need percision, timing and multiple button combinations for the complicated moves, so keyboard.

I am play on Xbox controller, but not on Xbox...
