Build 6755 - Mar. 5th
Build 6755 is now available on the experimental branch! If you find any new or recurring bugs please post them below. Thanks to everyone who has posted so far, it's been incredibly helpful! Not too long before we move these changes (plus a few surprises) to the default branch.

For those new, here's how to access the experimental branch:
How to access the "experimental" branch of Distance

General
  • Added new Audio options
    • Announcer: Toggle which announcer phrases you want to hear (Tricks, Death, Checkpoints, Mode)
    • Custom Music: Search Subdirectories
    • Custom Music: Allow Audio Effects (specifically just pausing and death explosion)
  • Enable Menu Animations in General settings now affects level select progress bar animations
  • "Boom Box" has been renamed to "Boombox" to match the traditional spelling
  • Optimized the advanced level select a tiny bit
  • Improved font size for Trackmogrify input menu
Level Changes
  • Compression: Fixed issue with angled holograms at start
  • Cataclysm: Small update to fix gaps
Bugs Fixed
  • Fixed bug where going into the Audio options, leaving, then returning could result in a broken menu if you had "General > Enable Menu Animations" disabled
  • Fixed several bugs with Nexus not being counted towards overall completion
  • Fixed bug where the author "Refract" was shown for Nexus levels
  • Fixed several bugs with per-level MP3 playback
  • Fixed bug with holding Skip before the cutscene has fully loaded
  • Fixed several issues with the "new!" orange dots not working properly
  • Fixed bug where selecting your existing main menu level in the Garage would break the menu
  • Fixed issues where custom music volume would affect music visualizer output
  • Fixed bug where WaterAudioZone would play splash SFX when spawning underwater
  • Fixed bug with upper category tabs in Garage

I now have an orange dot on Stunt in main menu, but after clicking on the mode, no dot on any of the level sets names or individual map names. Even after game restart.

The tricks menu in Stunt pause menu seemed to get messed up after opening it a second time: https://i.imgur.com/j2S4hWP.jpg (compared to regular: https://i.imgur.com/myfENfA.png) - The title, subtitle, left and right arrow buttons, and completed x/70 underneath are all gone after opening it a second time (oddly, with the right arrow button a little above where the left arrow should be?). The tricks menu in garage is fine.

And to just copy over the couple things I listed in discord:

Allow audio effects should probably be renamed to something like Dim on Pause&Death, since there's no description, it's hard to know what "audio effects" means :P

It seems like you can't use a controller or keyboard to enable custom music (assuming you already have a folder set from last time you enabled it) since you can't hit right when you have the sliders selected.

And one that isn't specific to this build, but... trackmog seed doesn't have a character limit when playing trackmog mode, however, the input to type a seed for trackmog in the editor does have a character limit, so there's a lot of trackmog maps you can play but can't load into the editor.

Also not specific to this build, but I've been seeing it a lot - the default sprint level selected when you start a new server in multiplayer is still Broken Symmetry (in the legacy set), so even if you don't have legacy unlocked yet, opening a server and hitting start without selecting a map will let you play through all the legacy maps.

Also want to add that in the editor in Roads/Tunnels is one Tunnel Entrance untextured and so invisble since at least the last two experimental patches

Additionally, and I'm not sure if this was ever brought to anyone's attention, but the collisions on the EmpireTransitTunnel objects are all kinds of weird.

Could you do me a big favor and upload your "My Games\Distance\Profiles" folder somewhere for me to check out? I want to see what level is triggering the orange dot to appear.

I'll also add on that the discord rich presence bug is still there - joining a mp server stops showing you as playing distance (to everyone except you locally), but hosting is fine.
