i've been playing this game for years now, and just so you know, that sounds like a normal caos AC fight. you have to remember, the higher level you get you will get better player caos AC to fight.

ascended champian
when you come upon an ascended champion you must fight, and you get within their colored circle they will automatically start defending their territory......that is part of the game and not a hack

Ok, I stand corrected. It would be nice if that were explained better in-game.
