Game Not Launching?
For any problems that you wish to report, please do so on the main forums at: http://www.signalstudios.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?93

Thank you.

Many players are experiencing an issue where their game does not launch when clicking on the icon. It seems most of these players have Intel HD chipset graphics cards.

Please list your PC specs below to help us troubleshoot this issue.

Please note that our minimum requirements to run this game require a graphics processor with at least 512 MB of dedicated memory.

You can also try setting both the game's and Steam's executable to always run as an administrator.

To do that, follow these instructions:
1. Completely close out of Steam and make sure that it is not running
2. Go the game's launch folder (C:\Program Files (x86)Steam\SteamApps\common\Ascend Hand of Kul\bin)
3. Right-click on Game.exe and proceed to "Properties"
4. Go to the "Compatibility" tab at the top and then check the box near the bottom of the window that says "Run this program as an administrator"
5. Then click "Apply" and then "OK"
6. Now do the same for Steam by going to Steam's launch folder (C:\Program Files (x86)Steam) and locating Steam.exe)
7. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 for Steam.exe
8. Run Steam and then launch Ascend through it

You can email your DxDiag[windows.microsoft.com] to info@SignalStudios.net, and include as much detail as you can on your launching problems. You can also visit the official forums[www.signalstudios.net] for more help in troubleshooting your issue.

Hey everyone!

Could you try following these directions and then launching the game?

Please navigate to c:\users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\local\ascend\

Now, please open notepad and paste the following:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<Settings>
<display xres="1024" yres="768" fullscreen="1" vsync="0" />
<rendering brightness="0.400000" textureDetail="0" shadowQuality="0" antiAlias="0" />
</Settings>

Next, save the file as gfxsettings.xml (make sure it's xml and not txt!)

This will get you in a lower resolution of the game, and hopefully might help have it launch!

Hello I created the .xml file. But I can't find the folder you mentionned. When I open the local folder (with the steam interface) I end up with 3 other folders : "_CommonRedist" ; "bin" ; "game".

Where should I put the .xml file ? :/
