I'm getting the same thing.

Try setting both the game and Steam to always run as an admin.

1. Completely close out of Steam and make sure that it is not running
2. Go the game's launch folder (C:\Program Files (x86)Steam\SteamApps\common\Ascend Hand of Kul\bin)
3. Right-click on Game.exe and proceed to "Properties"
4. Go to the "Compatibility" tab at the top and then check the box near the bottom of the window that says "Run this program as an administrator"
5. Then click "Apply" and then "OK"
6. Now do the same for Steam by going to Steam's launch folder (C:\Program Files (x86)Steam) and locating Steam.exe)
7. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 for Steam.exe
8. Run Steam and then launch Ascend through it

ive got one for ya! i love the game its amazing the game playall out best beta game of all times in my book.
if you think the loading characters problem is bad? try loging out due to getting stuck in the wall, only to resawp in the same area glitched into the wall. this even happens when i go back into the sanctum, ill go up to my caos asigned god. then he zaps me back imto the same wall, and i cant unglitch myself out of it.

talk a bout one bug thats a real pain in the ass in such a great mmo, oh well i guess itll be fixed once the beta trials are done and over.

Sean this didn't work, im still getting the error message

Guys how about Internet speed? I think 10Mbps is recommended!
