Since everyone uses dash to get around, can we just get a "sprint"?
I hated how the Xbox version requires dashing to get around. What's the difference between dashing everywhere you go, and just running at a faster speed?

err cause your dash actually does damage when you hit targets and when you dash its like a sudden sprint boost, unlike sprint, which is a continous fast movement, well that's what I think anyway

Dashing does damage and breaks stuff. Running is achieved by serving the God of Light. Checkmate, atheist :D.

That's great, but sometimes you just need to get from point A to point B. Dashing makes you run faster, but it's also annoying to keep pressing dash everywhere you go.

My point is, since everyone dashes to get around anyway, why can't we get a run option that we can just hold down a button and run faster?

Hey, be happy, that we are not forced to travel by side-jumping (Legend of Zelda, nudge-nudge) :D.

Anywho, to run faster - serve the god of Light. Also, I've heard there were running speed boosts in shop from time to time. So, get one of those too, if you just want to run faster.

Although, it WOULD be awesome to have a "charge" mechanics. Since we are playing as giants - charging into our enemy would be helpful xD. Pretty much like running, but also does damage and is useful to run to annoying enemies.

sprint would be nice. im kinda tired from spamming RT +X on my pad. the normal run speed is super slow imo.

If I'm not mistaken (haven't played for 2 weeks or so) a weeklong running speed upgrade is 30k souls. That's a steal and does the job quite nicely.

Wasn't it 70k?

30k, 70k - if you played up to a certain point it's all just small change. Even 70k for 7 days of +30% speed isn't much. I thought it was 30k, though. As I said, I haven't played for a fortnight.

Agreed, it is indeed a tiny ammount.

You guys misunderstood, I'm not talking about increased speed. I'm talking about running at the same speed as spamming dash. But without need to mash the button over and over till your thumbs bleed.

Nope, I did understand. It's just that running with that extra speed is almost as fast as spamming the dash "attack".
And thus, the boost is a valid option.
If we all could sprint when we want, no one would even consider buying that boost. Changing it the way you want isn't as simple as you make it sound - it has repercussions on the store and effects gameplay in ways beyond simply "getting around faster".

That's an interesting spin on it. I never assumed the reason they weren't adding a run feature was because they were selling run boosts.

It's not the only reason, though. Running (especially with boost) would allow players to simply ignore any mob (well, except for story/forced ones) in their way. Thus, leading to player being less powerful with additional difficulty for his gameplay.

Also, it's a new mechanics, which is not easy to apply (especially to a game, that was ported from other system).

And many many more reasons.

Yes, well... being in combat slows down run speed significantly though. If you want to skip a fight, dashing is still the best option.
Honestly, I think they should increase the run speed gained by the boost a bit more so it compares more favorably with the dash.
